EntericBio – Latest Distributor Training

The EntericBio team welcomed Majdoleen Rambo from  FALME on site at Seroseps’ premises in Annacotty, last week for EntericBio training.

Ms Rambo an application specialist with Falme was here for 4 days and received training on all EntericBio applications and procedures.

Training was provided by James O’Leary and Kerrie NicAogain both Application Specialists with the EntericBio team.

Falme are the latest distributor of EntericBio to be signed.

Limerick Santa Cycle

Santa Cycle in aid of Children with Scoliosis

December 2nd saw more than 75 cycling Santa’s travel from the Hurlers Pub, Annacotty into Limerick City Centre and back.
This wonderful event was organised by Straight Ahead Ireland.

All funds raised will be donated in aid of Scoliosis which is a   debilitating disease affecting the curvature of the spine.

Serosep Ltd were delighted to be involved with this event.

Limerick Sports Partnership Company Relay Marathon Challenge 2018

Serosep Ltd proudly took part in the LSP Company Marathon Relay   Challenge on Friday 28th September, 2018.

This event saw 14 companies from around Limerick taking on the challenge which was held on the newly resurfaced UL running track.

Each company taking part had a team of 15 runners with each participant completing a total of 14 laps.

It was a great event with a healthy mix of fun and competition. Well done to Analog who not only won but broke the current record for this challenge.

Serosep Limited founded

Serosep Limited was founded in Limerick, Ireland in 1997 and began life as a distributor of laboratory diagnostic products.

EntericBio Development

In 2004 it began development of EntericBio faecal/stool pathogen test kits for bacteria.
2009 – 2012

The 24 hr test was launched

In 2009 the 24 hr test was launched.

In 2012 Serosep launched its first EntericBio realtime Gastro Panel 1 diagnostic kit to detect Salmonella, Campylobacter, Shigella and VTEC (Verotoxin-producing Escherichia coli) within three hours. The new improved test provided results within 3hrs v 24hrs using the older EntericBio strip based assay.
The first user was Cork University Hosital, Cork, Ireland.

2012 also saw the beginning of Serosep UK Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary based in West Sussex, UK. The Royal Free Hospital, London becomes the first UK based laboratory to routinely use EntericBio real time assay.
The EntericBio system was launched in 2012 and they are currently supplying 13 sites in the UK with a further 5 sites currently in the process of implementation.

EntericBio Gastro Panel 2 real time diagnostic kit launched

In 2014 the EntericBio Gastro Panel 2 real time diagnostic kit launched, consisting of Salmonella, Campylobacter, Shigella, VTEC, Cryptosporidium and Giardia.

An estimated 85% of clinical microbiology laboratories in Ireland are now using EntericBio real time assay Gastro Panel 2 and EntericBio C. difficile routinely. Customers began enjoying benefits of rapid detection in three hours, no pipetting, no DNA extraction

Building work for laboratories for the research and development of EntericBio commenced

In 2014 building work commences for state of the art laboratories for the research and development of EntericBio.

Second premises is also secured in adjacent to the existing building in Annacotty, Co Liemrick. Serosep sees an expansion both the teams at Serosep and Serosep UK.

This phase also sees the introduction and development of many new panels including the Viral and CPE assays to the market.
